“The United Nations Climate Conference of 2009 led to a few great proposals for action by the big nations of the world. However, it also sparked some controversary, and many people are questioning whether it’s a necessary Conference.
On the one hand, politicans all agree that the global climate is an important concern. This conference represents an important gathering between world leaders to discuss and attempt to fix the environmental problems occuring in the world. Many countries agreed to cut down carbon emissions by 15-25% by 2020 as a result of decisions made in the conference, which is a significant development in terms of carbon-reducing actions by the world’s nations.
However, many people are unhappy with the conference. They claim that the jets and luxury cars used by politicians to arrive at the conference produce lots of carbon emissions, which shows the politicans are not really concerned. In fact, some people are under the impression that the politicians are just trying to improve their public global image. As well, people are questioning the point of this conference, citing similar gatherings as being unproductive. Finally, some people believe that the global climate change is a myth, a fact supported by a new British study, so maybe this whole thing is pointless and the conference is utterly unnecessary.”
